Camfil Acquires Longtime California Distributor Environmental Filtration

With acquisition, air filter manufacturer will add new branch sales offices in Santa Clara and Sacramento

Camfil – the world’s leading provider of clean air solutions – is pleased to announce the acquisition of its long-time Northern California distributor, Environmental Filtration Inc. (EFI).  The purchase of EFI’s assets will enable Camfil to operate two new direct branch sales offices in the United States, in Santa Clara and Sacramento.

 

Marwan Awad, the owner of EFI, will remain with Camfil as a Territory Sales Manager in the Santa Clara branch.

 

“EFI’s history of representing the Camfil product line goes back to the late 1980s,” says Kevin R. Wood, Camfil’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  “It has a solid reputation and an excellent staff of experienced individuals.  This acquisition will enable us to continue and accelerate a push for growth in the Northern California market, and accordingly, we intend to make investments to further enhance our operations and sales functions in the region.”

 

The new Camfil-operated branches will become the company’s thirteenth and fourteenth direct sales offices in the U.S., joining Birmingham, Colorado Springs, Houston, Los Angeles, Kalamazoo, Livonia/Detroit, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, Puerto Rico, Salt Lake City and Syracuse.  Stacy Strickland will serve as Branch Manager of the Sacramento office and Dan Campbell -- Camfil’s’ Western Regional Sales Manager -- will be responsible for both offices during the transitional period.

 

The moves are intended not only to expand Camfil’s reach but to help the company get the word out about the benefits of energy-efficient, air solutions and filters, which do a better job removing harmful particles from air but have lower lifetime costs than traditionally designed air filters.
